1. Scope

These terms apply to every quote, agreement and service. Your own terms are excluded unless I accept them in writing.

2. Quotes

Quotes are valid for thirty days and describe the work in writing. An agreement exists once you confirm the quote in writing, including by email.

3. Scope and changes

I deliver what the quote describes. Changes to scope are quoted separately and start once you approve them. Hourly estimates are indicative. If a project looks likely to exceed the estimate, I tell you before continuing.

4. Rates and payment

Rates exclude VAT. Projects over €500 require fifty percent up front. Invoices are payable within fourteen days.

Rates vary by type of work and by sector. Cultural, non-profit and community work is priced at a reduced rate. The applicable rate is stated in the quote.

For business clients, late payment incurs statutory commercial interest under article 6:119a of the Dutch Civil Code, plus collection costs under the applicable statutory scale. For consumers, I send a reminder with a fourteen-day period before any collection costs apply.

5. Cancellation

Booked time cancelled less than forty-eight hours in advance is invoiced in full. Work already carried out is invoiced regardless.

6.1 Licences and tools

Licences for stock, fonts, music and software are bought in your name where possible and remain your responsibility to maintain. Rights are limited to the terms of the supplier's licence. If you use the work beyond that scope, any additional licence costs are yours. Where I buy a licence on your behalf, the cost is included in the quote.

AI tools form part of how I work. I use them for editing, copywriting, code, design, research and thinking, alongside my own judgement and craft. The specific tools used on your project are named in the quote.

I do not put your customers' personal data, or any confidential material, into AI tools without agreeing that with you in writing first. Where I do, I use business-tier accounts with data processing agreements in place and tools that do not train on the material submitted.

I cannot guarantee the copyright status of AI-generated output, since the law on this is still developing. Where that matters for your project, we agree in advance which parts must be free of it.

6.2 Costs and expenses

Print, production and third party costs are quoted in advance as part of the project price. Where I buy these on your behalf, my handling of them is included in the quoted amount.

Travel is charged at the tax-free rate per kilometre applicable at the time, plus travel time at the agreed hourly rate for journeys over two hours each way. Public transport and parking are billed at cost. Travel by bike within Amsterdam is included.

Accommodation, meals and other expenses required for the work are agreed in advance and billed at cost.

7. Working with others

I may bring in specialists where the work needs them. I select and manage them, and I remain your point of contact and responsible for delivery. Their work is included in my quote as part of the total price.

8. Your part

You supply the information, access and decisions the work needs, on time. Delays on your side may move the delivery date and any resulting costs are yours.

9. Intellectual property

Copyright in the work remains with me. On payment of the final invoice you receive the right to use the deliverables for the purpose agreed.

Transfer of copyright is possible by separate written agreement, at a fee agreed in advance.

Source and working files remain mine. Where you need them, I supply them by separate agreement at a fee agreed in advance. Once you edit the work yourself, my name comes off it.

I keep my moral rights under Dutch copyright law, including the right to object to changes that damage the work or my reputation.

I have the right to show the work in my portfolio and promotional material. If confidentiality applies, we agree that in writing before the work starts.

10. Confidentiality and data

I keep your confidential information to myself. I process personal data in line with the GDPR, as set out in my privacy policy.

11. Liability

My liability is limited to the invoice value of the assignment, or to the amount my insurer pays out in that case. I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or missed savings.

These limits do not apply in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness.

12. Force majeure

Neither of us is liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control. If force majeure lasts longer than sixty days, either of us may end the agreement, with work already done invoiced.

13. Complaints

Tell me about any problem with the work within fourteen days of delivery, so I can put it right.

14. Ending the agreement

Either of us may end an ongoing agreement with one month's written notice. Work carried out up to that point is invoiced. I may suspend or end the agreement immediately if invoices remain unpaid after a reminder.

15. Law and jurisdiction

Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the court in Amsterdam.

Additional terms for consumers

These apply if you buy coaching or digital products as a private individual.

16. Withdrawal

You have fourteen days to withdraw from a purchase without giving a reason.

For digital products, this right ends once you start the download or access the content, provided you have expressly agreed to this and acknowledged losing the withdrawal right.

For services, if you ask me to start within the fourteen days and then withdraw, you pay for the part already delivered.

17. Coaching terms addition

The free call is a chance to check fit on both sides. Nothing said there is advice and no coaching relationship begins until a session is booked and paid for.

What you tell me in any session, including the free introductory one, stays between us. I won't share it with anyone, except where I'm legally required to, or where I believe you or someone else may be at risk.

I'm not a certified therapist or medical practitioner. Coaching supports your own development and choices, it works alongside your own judgement, not instead of it. If something comes up that needs professional support beyond coaching, I'll say so and point you toward it rather than working around it. You're always free to pause or stop if something isn't landing right.

Any notes I keep are for my own reference, kept securely and never shared. Full details in the privacy policy, linked here.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The version supplied with your quote applies to that assignment. For ongoing agreements, I give one month's notice of any change.
