Who is responsible

Under the GDPR I am the controller for the personal data processed through this website and in my work with clients.

What I collect and why

Contact form. Your name, email, phone number if you give it, subject and message. I use this to answer you and to discuss possible work. Basis: your consent and, where a project follows, the performance of an agreement.

Newsletter. Your name and email, only if you tick the box. Basis: your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Clients. Name, contact details, company details, KvK and VAT numbers, correspondence and invoicing data. Basis: performance of the agreement and my legal obligations.

Website use. My website provider records technical data such as IP address, browser and pages visited. Basis: my legitimate interest in a working, secure website.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that lead nowhere: one year. Client records: seven years, as Dutch tax law requires for administrative records. Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.

Who else sees it

I use service providers who process data on my behalf. They act on my instructions under processing agreements and I do not sell your data.

Currently these are: Squarespace, which hosts this website and stores form submissions. Google Workspace, for email, documents and file storage. Weglot, which translates the site and processes page content and visitor language settings. Anthropic and Google, whose AI tools I use in creative work. My accountant, for invoicing and administration.

AI tools are used for creative and editorial work. Your personal data and your customers' data do not go into them unless we have agreed that in writing, in which case business accounts with processing agreements are used.

Quizzes, assessments and free downloads

I sometimes offer quizzes, assessments and free downloads on social media and on this site. Where those ask for your email address, I use it to send you what you asked for and, if you opt in, occasional emails about my work. You can unsubscribe at any time and I do not sell or share your address. Where an assessment produces a result, it is shown to you and I keep no individual record of it unless you become a client and we agree otherwise.

Some of these providers operate outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Cookies

My website uses cookies. Details are in my cookie notice.

Your rights

You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how I use it, or receive it in a portable form. Where processing rests on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Where it rests on legitimate interest, you can object.

Email me and I will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how I handle it, you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Security

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data and I keep client information confidential.

Specific for coaching clients

What you tell me in a session stays between us. Notes are taken by hand and kept securely offline. Where I keep anything digitally, it lives in access-controlled storage in Google Workspace and is never shared.

Coaching notes never go into AI tools. Not for summarising, not for analysis, not for anything.

If we use an assessment or questionnaire, I tell you which one, why and what happens to the results. Those are discussed with you and go no further.

I keep coaching records for two years after our last session, then delete them. If you would like them deleted sooner, ask and I will.

Changes

I may update this policy. The current version always appears here, with its date.
